Millenium Hall 1 Chiromo Campus in Nairobi
The Intellectual Property Management Office IPMO carried out an Intellectual Property sensitization training for all postgraduate students of the College of Biological and Physical Sciences CBPS on 7th April 2016 at the Millenium Hall 1 Chiromo Campus in Nairobi.
The training was organized by IPMO through the Principal, CBPS and jointly with the IP champion of the CBPS, Dr. Peterson Guto.
The objective of the training was to teach the postgraduate students;
- how protect and own their research output;
- how to commercialize or license out their research output,
for their benefit, the University and the society.
The topics included learning the different aspects of Intellectual Property (Patents, Copyrights and Industrial Designs) and how and when to Patent and the benefits of patenting an invention.
The main speaker was the Managing Director, Kenya Industrial Property Institute KIPI.
The IPMO intends to carry out this training in every college through the college’s Principal and in conjunction with each IP champion of the college.
