University of Nairobi students Recognition award day held on 5th May 2023

Prof Mary Kinoti representing Acting Deputy Vice Chancellor Research Innovation and Enterprise together with the Vice Chancellor Professor Stephen Kiama and Deputy Vice  Chancellor Academic Affairs Professor Julius Ogengo during  the first of its kind, the University of Nairobi students Recognition Award Ceremony which celebrate outstanding achievements of students in various categories held on Friday, May 5, 2023 at the historic Taifa Hall.

This edition of Recognition Awards was special because it not only recognized outstanding academic performance but also Talent, Research and Publication, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Corporate Social Responsibility, Leadership, Volunteerism, Extra-curricular activities and Sports and Games.

Speaking during the ceremony, the Vice chancellor Prof. Kiama Gitahi noted that over 700;awards will be given making it the largest honours list in the history of the the University of Nairobi award ceremony.He noted that this year’s recognition ceremony, the University awards went beyond the academic performance. The move aimed at producing holistic graduates and also recognize activities outside the academic realm which are vital for building all round student and citizen of this country and the world
