The University of Nairobi celebrated 50 years since it was transformed into the first national University in Kenya on July 1, 1970.
The Intellectual Property Management Office contributed in the celebrations by showcasing one of the successful technology commercialization and collaboration with Industry.
The University of Nairobi commercialized the bio fertilizer, BIOFIX™, through a collaboration with MEA Limited, a regional leading agro products company. The BIOFIX™ fertilizer has had major impact to the farmers through increased yield. The Managing Director of MEA Limited, Mr. Eustace Muriuki gave a presentation during the UON@50 celebrations.
