WORLD AIDS DAY

Observing 2021 World AIDS Day.

The University of Nairobi will host a virtual event to celebrate this year's World AIDS Day. Prof. Stephen Kiama,
Vice Chancellor, University of Nairobi will headline the event with key note speeches by Prof. Ouma Anzala, Professor of Virology and Immunology, Department of Medical Microbiology, and Dr. Loice Ombajo, Physician and Infectious Diseases Specialist, Department of Internal Medicine, UoN.

The theme for this year's World AIDS Day is "End Inequalities, End AIDS, End Pandemics".

The day is observed on 1st December every year to cover various issues surrounding the HIV epidemic such as increasing awareness and knowledge of HIV, acting towards reducing stigmatization of those affected by the disease, and promoting increased action towards eradicating HIV.
