International Engagements
The World Intellectual Property Organization WIPO launched two guides, Identifying Inventions in the Public Domain – A Guide for Inventors and Entrepreneurs and Using Inventions in the Public Domain – A Guide for Inventors and Entrepreneurs which were published in 2020. University of Nairobi had been chosen as one of the offices to pilot the use of the guides and case studies from the University of Nairobi were included in the guide.

Local engagements
University of Nairobi participated in the IP/ABS stakeholder meeting for mainstreaming Intellectual Property management, access and benefit sharing of genetic resources and traditional knowledge in Universities and research institutions that was held in November, 2019 in Naivasha, Kenya
