Research Week 2020: Register to attend any of the 13 conferences

The 3rd Research Week 2020 is scheduled for October 12 -16, 2020. The annual event, hosted by the University of Nairobi, will feature 13 different conferences covering a diverse range of academic disciplines and is expected to bring together over 1,000 participants comprising researchers, scholars, students and practitioners from all over the world.

UoN at 50: Our History

It is a time to celebrate. The University of Nairobi marks 50 years since it was transformed into the first national University in Kenya on July 1, 1970.

The University of Nairobi owes its origin to several developments in higher education within the country and the region. The idea of an institution for higher learning in Kenya goes back to 1947 when the Kenya Government drew up a plan for the establishment of a technical and commercial institute in Nairobi.

It’s all systems go for registration & orientation of new students

The University of Nairobi has put in place an efficient online system to register new students and take them through orientation. In addition, the teaching and learning will take place virtually. The new students have been admitted to the Colleges of Architecture and Engineering, Agriculture and Veterinary Sciences, Biological and Physical Sciences, Education and External Studies, Humanities and Social Sciences, Health Sciences, and the ODeL Campus.

Vice-Chancellor’s Reforms Agenda

You recall that when I assumed the office of the Vice Chancellor, I promised to provide leadership and initiate reforms that will make our University great through relevance and impact. My short experience in the office has accorded me the insights into the areas that need urgent reforms to unlock more potential for growth and sustainability.

We are at a critical stage where change in the way we conduct our business is inevitable.

UoN and BASF Collaborate to support COVID-19 Efforts

UON FRESHERS TO REPORT VIRTUALLY IN AUGUST 2020

The University of Nairobi has continued with its online learning amid the Covid-19 with the next batch of students joining the institution being prepped for an unprecedented first-ever semester of their post-secondary life.
